Oaks Ministry Collaborative
Jill started Oaks because she saw both a gap, and a bridge. There were many folks a part of the local church, who were involved already, but also could benefit from additional care and mentorship. Jill also saw how many laypeople were qualified to help, but disconnected. Her idea was to tap into the pool of laypeople who work professionally in the fields of psychology, counseling and human services and have a heart for mentoring and to connect them with those looking for further care.
With such a robust vision, I wanted to capture as much of it as I could in the brand while keeping it simple and easy to apply.
We explored a series of takes on Oak trees, leaves, and acorns, ultimately landing on a leaf with an ‘O’ in the center. The letter, split into two pieces, represents the collaborative dynamic of Oaks as it brings two separate individuals into partnership. The color palette of Oaks was designed to mimic how as leaves age, so do their colors, but they remain brilliant through all phases of the leaf’s life.
A favorite, but unselected direction. I really liked strength and sturdiness here in the ‘OAKS’ custom type and tree icon.
